Nocturnal Polysomnogram: An overnight sleep
study that records brain activity, muscle activity, heart rhythms and
breathing activity during sleep. The test is helpful in evaluating patients
who snore, who stop breathing in sleep, or who have excessive leg or body
movements at night. The test is performed in a sleep laboratory.
CPAP Polysomnogram: When a patient is diagnosed
with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, a CPAP Polysomnogram is indicated. This
sleep study will include CPAP titration throughout the night and optimal
CPAP level will be determined.
MSLT: An MSLT is a series of four to five
daytime naps which is performed after a full night polysomnogram. This
test is designed to properly evaluate daytime sleepiness and diagnose
narcolepsy.
Split Study Polysomnogram: A Split Study
Polysomnogram is the combination of a nocturnal polysomnogram; with the
possibility of CPAP treatment midway through the test.
O2 Titration: Supplemental Oxygen is provided
